Central of Georgia Box Car
Manufactured By: Lionel
Model Number: 6-36262
Road Name: CG
Notes: Even though Lionel has been making more high quality stuff since the mid 1990's, they still crank out some low end cheap stuff. Even with it's plastic trucks and couplers, it still looks nice. I mainly got this car because I've lived in Georgia all my life and wanted something having to do with Georgia railroads on my layout. One funny thing that I noted about this car is that the brake wheel is made of metal. On Lionel's higher end cars that use more die-cast metal, this is usually no surprise. However, the lower end cars with plastic trucks and couplers usually have plastic brake wheels. I guess it's a sign that even in the cheaper cars, Lionel has improved quality. This car was built in 2004 and bought by me in October 2005.
